The Chief Executive Officer serves as the CEO of the City and County of Butte-Silver Bow and assures that state and local laws are enforced. The Chief Executive informs the Council of Commissioners of the state of governmental affairs; recommends measures to improve governmental operations and conditions within the city-county; appoints Citizen Boards & Committees; approves or vetoes all Council Bills (which may be overridden by a 2/3 vote); calls special Council meetings; negotiates collective bargaining agreements; and presents and prepares financial reports.

The Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse Centennial
The gala celebration of the Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse centennial will cover five days of events culminating in the official re-dedication of the Courthouse on July 4, 2012. Follow the planning process on our blog or Facebook page.
Our Office hours are 8am to 5pm (with the exception of the Treasurer's office) with no noon closure.
The Treasurer's office is open 8am to 5pm for all matters (including tax payments). State Motor Vehicle Licensing is open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Essential Public Works Services, (water, sewer, and road maintenance) are available 24 hours, seven days a week.
