Chief Executive Matt Vincent says Butte-Silver Bow is “on the right track” on many fronts, including a goal-oriented budget process, departments “energized” with new leaders and a government more responsive to the public.
Vincent, in a “state of the city” address to commissioners and a packed council chambers Wednesday night, said he did not run on a platform of “that’s the way we’ve always done it” or “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
“We are the ‘can do city’ and I challenged this community to the belief that we can do better,” said Vincent, who narrowly defeated former Chief Executive Paul Babb in the November 2012 election.
“Change is never easy and good enough isn’t good enough,” he said. “It has been and will continue to be my mandate that we can do better.”
