Due to a negotiated settlement between NorthWestern Energy and the State of Montana, which resolves NorthWestern Energy’s 2016 centrally assessed property valuation, Real Estate/Property Tax bills across Montana have been delayed. We anticipate tax bills to be postmarked by November 15, 2016. Taxpayers will have 30 days to remit payment from the postmarked date.
As previously announced, Butte-Silver Bow taxpayers have the ability look up and pay their taxes online. Citizens can find a link on the Butte-Silver Bow web site, http://www.bsb-mt.us/767/Pay-Property-Taxes-Online, or by going directly to our vendor’s site, https://itax.tylertech.com/ButteSilverBowMT/. If citizens elect to use this service, our credit card processing provider, ACI World Wide, will assess a transaction fee of 2.75% for a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or Discover) or 2.6% for a debit card.
Butte-Silver Bow staff and Treasurer Lori Baker-Patrick have been working with software vendor Tyler Technology testing the system, coordinating contracts between Tyler Technology and ACI World Wide, as well as extensive time training on the processes and software.
