Butte-Silver Bow today announced that in order to further protect its citizens and employees from COVID-19, all non-essential local government offices will be closed for in-person business to the public beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, and will resume normal in-person hours on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Butte-Silver Bow’s offices will remain staffed with employees who will continue to offer their full range of services by phone and email from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. We currently provide payment options by phone, email, or online.
Butte-Silver Bow will have a payment and document drop box located outside of the Courthouse at 155 W. Granite St. The Water Utility Division also has a drop box for payments located outside of its building at 124 W. Granite St.
If citizens need to drop off documentation such as building plans and applications, please call the respective department you are working with, and they will meet you in front of the building.
Essential services such as those performed by The Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department, Police Department, Public Works Department, and Health Department will continue to be fully operational.
Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners will continue to hold their weekly meetings. We ask that citizens watch the livestream of the meetings on our website.

In addition, Health Officer Karen Sullivan and the Butte-Silver Bow Board of Health have extended the order pursuant to Title 5, Chapter 2, Part 1, and specifically Section 50-2-118 of the Montana Code Annotated, that all bars, breweries, distilleries, casinos, restaurants, and gyms, with the exception of drive-through, delivery, and pick-up services, within the City-County of Butte-Silver Bow, Montana shall be closed to the public until midnight on March 31, 2020, pending further notification.
