So far, our citizens of Butte-Silver Bow have been doing a wonderful job of following Governor Bullock’s Stay-at-Home Directive. This Directive will be in effect until April 10; however, that could change at any time based on what we are seeing nationally. The governor also directed yesterday that travelers arriving from another state or country to Montana for non-work-related purposes undergo a 14-day self-quarantine. The Directive follows the governor’s prior travel advisory and last week’s Stay-at-Home Directive.
Silver Bow County currently has 11 positive cases of COVID-19. At this time, there is no evidence of community spread. While there is no evidence of community spread, we ask that our citizens still be diligent in staying at home and taking measures to protect their health. Montana has 184 reported cases of COVID-19 in the state. There has been 14 people hospitalized, and 4 deaths associated to COVID-19 state-wide.
To further protect yourself, continue following the Centers for Disease Control’s guidelines by washing your hands frequently or using a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily whether it be at home, work, or other places in the public. It is also important to avoid close contact with people who are sick, and if you are feeling unwell yourself, please stay home.
I would like to remind everyone in Silver Bow County that if you have questions related to COVID-19, The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department has a call center set up, and there is a nurse on hand that is available to answer your questions. The phone number for the call center is 406-497-5008. They are open daily between 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
