BUTTE, Mont. – June 10, 2020 – Butte-Silver Bow Chief Executive Dave Palmer announced today that the Town Pump Fireworks Display will take place this year on July 3rd. This will mark the 108th year that fireworks have been a mainstay of Butte’s Independence Day celebrations, and the tenth year the show has been sponsored by Town Pump.
The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department has provided guidance to ensure the safety of all citizens who are taking in the display. Chester Steele Park will be closed to the public the evening of July 3rd. Other gathering places, such as the Anselmo Mine Yard, will also be closed. In accordance with Phase 2 of Governor Bullock’s Directive, gatherings of more than 50 people are strongly discouraged without proper physical distancing. If crowds are unavoidable in high traffic areas such as grocery stores or other locations, citizens are urged to wear a mask.
“I want to thank the citizens of Butte-Silver Bow for their diligence in keeping our COVID-19 cases low,” said Dave Palmer. “Everyone has done a fantastic job of keeping their families and neighbors safe. We want this to be a fun and memorable night and ask that everyone continue to avoid large gatherings and practice good hygiene. I would also like to thank Town Pump for their generosity in sponsoring the 3rd of July fireworks display for another year. They care for our community in so many ways, and I am grateful for their support of the fireworks, especially this year.”
The fireworks display will begin at dusk from the “Big M” and Town Pump has chosen Big Sky Fireworks to put on the show, providing a great entertainment experience for the community of Butte-Silver Bow.
