[ARCHIVED] Butte-Silver Bow Comprehensive Plan Ready for Public Roll Out

As Montana moves into Phase 2 restrictions related to the coronavirus, we feel it is safe and appropriate to move forward with the public process to consider the Draft Butte-Silver Bow Comprehensive Plan. The draft plan has been available for review on the County’s website since early April, but we would like to take the time to introduce the draft plan and its unique components to residents and stakeholders throughout the county prior to formal consideration for adoption. In doing so we are taking into consideration the public health and safety guidelines set at the state and local level as well as the individual comfort of citizens interested in learning about the draft pan. We hope that you will join us for one or both of the following open house opportunities:

  • Tuesday, July 7th from 12:00-1:30 PM - Virtual Open House: Join staff and project team members for an online walk-through of the draft comprehensive plan and interactive Q&A session. This meeting will be hosted by the County on WebEx and participants may join by computer or by phone.

  • Tuesday, July 7th from 5:00-7:00 PM – Drop-In Open House at the Stodden Park Plaza Pavilion: Join project team members at Stodden park for a drop-in studio aimed at familiarizing the public with the goals, policies and action strategies highlighted in the comprehensive plan. This event will be outdoors and social distancing measures will be in place to ensure your safety as well as the safety of the project team members. We hope that you’ll drop by and visit with us to learn more about this exciting plan and next steps!

The draft plan remains available online and we encourage you to take a minute to review and provide feedback in advance of these two open house opportunities. Following the events scheduled for July 7th, public comments will be addressed and necessary revisions to the plan made. Additional opportunity for public comment will be available once the plan begins the formal adoption process, to include a public hearing before the Butte-Silver Bow Planning Board and consideration by the Council of Commissioners. Dates for these meetings will be set following the public outreach events in July.
