[ARCHIVED] Health Department Announces Nine New COVID-19 Cases

The new cases were confirmed beginning late morning Wednesday, Aug. 5 through mid-morning Friday, Aug. 7.

The new cases include:

  • one female and one male in their teens
  • one female in her 20s
  • three females in their 40s
  • one female and two males in their 50s

The Health Department has determined that two of the cases are household contacts to other cases, and two are contacts to other cases. Five of the cases remain under investigation to determine, if possible, the cause.

In all of the new cases, the Health Department is following up with all individuals identified as close contacts.

The new cases bring to a total 90 COVID-19 cases in Butte-Silver Bow, since the county was informed of its first case March 13. The Health Department is managing 48 active cases.

The Health Department’s numbers related to COVID-19 and the map data featured by the state of Montana do not exactly match up, as cases are being confirmed quickly and several cases are coming out of isolation.
