Open burning is closed until further notice within Butte-Silver Bow and our surrounding counties (Madison, Jefferson, and Beaverhead). Burn permits will not be allowed. No stage restrictions are in effect at this time.
According to Fire Chief Brian Doherty, open burning will be closed until further notice effective at midnight tonight.
This is in cooperation with the Montana Department of Natural Resources & Conservation's (DNRC) recommendation. The decision is based on the increase in temperatures and the decrease in humidity.
Campfires (in an enclosed pit) are still allowed.
