[ARCHIVED] Emergency Training Exercise in Butte-Silver Bow and Surrounding Counties Wednesday, September 17

The Butte-Silver Bow Office of Emergency Management and the Local Emergency Planning Committee, in collaboration with Montana Disaster and Emergency District 1, including: Deer Lodge, Powell, Granite, Ravalli, Missoula, Sanders, Flathead, Lincoln and Lake Counties plan to conduct a functional training exercise on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm which will simulate a Montana Monsoon scenario.

The purpose of the Montana Monsoon Exercise is to improve the capability of District 1 to effectively respond to a catastrophic weather event that strains the operating capacity of public and private agencies within our area of responsibility.

Butte-Silver Bow plans to assemble our Crisis Action Team to support and respond to the training exercise. If the exercise evolves to an emergency or disaster situation, BSB will activate our Emergency Operation Center as part of the exercise training.

People might hear radio communications regarding this exercise. Please note that this is only a training exercise and radio communications will indicate this as part of our procedure.
