Fire Prevention Week - Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives
Fire Chief Jeff Miller, Fire Marshal John Lasky, and members of the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department would like to invite you to an Open House at both Station 1 and Station 2 on Monday, October 6th, and Wednesday, October 8th, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. Come and visit your Fire Department and meet the firefighters and staff. Refreshments will be served.
The firefighters will discuss the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home and testing them monthly.
“In a fire, seconds count,” said Fire Chief Jeff Miller. “Roughly half of home fire deaths result from fires reported at night between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. when most people are asleep. Home smoke alarms can alert people to a fire before it spreads, giving everyone enough time to get out.”
