Butte-Silver Bow rolled out its proposal for new boating restrictions on Silver Lake at its Wednesday meeting.
The lake, an industrial water source owned by Butte-Silver Bow, is about 12 miles west of Anaconda.
A petition to the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks recommends banning boating and swimming on the eastern end of lake. Activities like water skiing and tubing would be banned on the entire lake, along with personal watercraft like jet skis and boats propelled by a motor exceeding 70 horsepower.
Commissioner Dennis Henderson expressed reservations about the plan.
