Workers for Charlie Davies Enterprises hoist up refurbished “rock screens” originally from the Belmont Mine to the outside of the Mount Con mine hoist house Wednesday as part of a Butte-Silver Bow grant project. Letters spelling out “Centerville” were imposed on the screens because the mine is most affiliated with that Butte neighborhood. Project Architect Mark Reavis said the rock screens from the Belmont were put up to protect the mines from rocks thrown by striking miners.
