[ARCHIVED] Butte Natural Resource Damage Restoration Council (BNRC) meets Thursday on Restoration Plan

The next BNRC Meeting is scheduled for Thursday October 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for a presentation of the preliminary version of the “Butte Area One Conceptual Restoration Plan.” The large conference room at the La Quinta Inn, 1 Holiday Way, has been reserved for this occasion.

Since May NRDP staff and Confluence Consulting have been working on this plan aimed at getting the community one step closer to the removal of the wastes left-in-place in the Upper Silver Bow Creek corridor, which are: the Parrot Tailings, the Diggings East, the Northside Tailings and the Blacktail Creek Berm. Of great interest to the stakeholders in this process will be the conceptual design sheets that reveal the proposed end uses for the areas to be restored.

Know that these design sheets are “preliminary” and will be molded by the feedback that we receive at this meeting and during the upcoming public comment period. So if you want to voice your opinion on this plan, then we hope to see you at the meeting.
