[ARCHIVED] Webinar on suicide prevention open to the public on Thursday at locations around Butte

At the request of Butte-Silver Bow Superintendent of Schools Cathy Maloney, several venues in Butte will host a webinar on “Suicide Prevention and Response: Successful Community Strategies” on Thursday, November 20 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. All showings are open to the public.

The venues presenting the webinar are the Butte Public Library, 226 West Broadway in the Big Butte Room; Montana Tech in the Kelley Steward room in the Student Union Building; the Butte Courthouse, 155 West Granite in Council Chambers; and the Butte Archives, 17 West Quartz.

The webinar is produced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Region VIII Partners.

Speakers include Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Region VIII Regional Administrator Charles Smith; Kimberly Myers, the Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Utah Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health; Suicide Prevention Program Director for the North Dakota Department of Health Micki Savelkoul; and Susan Payne, the Founding Executive Director of Safe2Tell®, a violence prevention initiative developed as a response to the Columbine tragedy in Colorado.
