Cindi Shaw will be chairwoman of the Council of Commissioners for another two years.
Shaw, 66, has been chairwoman the past two years and was re-elected by her follow commissioners on a unanimous voice vote Monday night.
“Thank you for putting your faith and trust in me,” Shaw said after the vote. “I promise I will try to do a good job.”
Shaw, a retired legal investigator, was re-elected to her third term as a commissioner this past Nov. 4. She served on a Butte-Silver Bow Study Commission from 2004 to 2006, was elected to her first council term in 2006 and was re-elected in 2010.
She chairs council meetings and regularly attends numerous county government meetings, be it boards that oversee parking, tax-increment financing districts, disaster preparedness and other areas. She also represents the 12-member council at ceremonial events such as ribbon-cuttings and ground-breakings.
“I’m retired and I’m able to do that and I tell people all the time, ‘I love what I do,’” she said. “You have to love what you do.
