AWARE, Inc. has landed a $1.2 million federal grant to upgrade and monitor Early Head Start programs in Butte, Bozeman, Helena and Livingston for infants and toddlers of low-income families.
The award will allow more families to be served.
The money comes from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families.
AWARE will provide an additional $600,000 in leveraged community resources to support the project’s success, according to its press release.
Butte is one of four Montana cities awarded a portion of $500 million the ACF has earmarked nationwide as Early Head Start-Child Care Partnerships, which stems from President Obama’s Early Learning Initiative.
