More than 200 judges are needed for the annual Montana Tech Science and Engineering Fair Feb. 23 and 25 on the campus.
The fair draws over 500 students in grades 5 to 12. To ensure that each student has a quality experience, judges are need to visit one-on-one with the students regarding their research.
There are no educational requirements to be an elementary or middle school judge. Categories include behavioral, earth, life and physical sciences.
Judging is 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 23, for elementary students; and 1 to 3 p.m. for junior high students in the HPER complex.
High school judges are needed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Student Union Building, and require an advanced degree in a STEM discipline. First-round judging is 9-11 a.m.; second-round judging is noon to 2 p.m. Twenty judges are needed to stay the entire day.
High school judges need a master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
