County officials hope Butte residents weigh in on options for a public pool with or without other water park features such as a “lazy river” or wave pool.
“I would encourage and beg for feedback from citizens,” Cindi Shaw, chairwoman of the Council of Commissioners, said Wednesday. “I want to see every single commissioner having their phones ring off the hook with citizens expressing their opinions.”
Six options were presented to the Parks and Recreation Board Tuesday night. They will be detailed again at a public hearing from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at the Emma Park Neighborhood Center, 25 W. Silver St.
The options range from a simple design like the old pool at Stodden Park to those featuring lazy rivers, a FlowRider, wave pool or one that includes a separate, enclosed 25-meter lap pool that could be used from early May through the end of September. All options would be at Stodden Park.
