[ARCHIVED] Buffalo Wild Wings zoning OK'd; Acadia to expand

Buffalo Wild Wings is one step closer to opening in Butte.

The county zoning board OK’d the restaurant and bar’s conditional-use permit for 3745 Harrison Ave. at its Thursday meeting.

Brad Anderson, who owns the Billings-based company that will operate the restaurant, attended the meeting in support of the application, which breezed through on a unanimous vote.

“We think this is a great location,” said the county’s senior planner Steve Hess.

Anderson complimented the speed with which the application was approved.

“I just want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to come here and build a store,” he said. “We really want to get open before summer.”

“This is a great fit for that part of town,” board member Tyler Shaffer said. “It’s nice to see new businesses coming to town, especially franchise businesses. That’s kind of exciting.”

ACADIA EXPANSION

The board also approved an expansion for Acadia Montana, a residential treatment center for children and adolescents. The group applied for a special-use permit for a 16-bed expansion.

“The needs exist by demand,” Acadia CEO Kristine Carpenter said. “We currently run near or at capacity and we would like to continue to serve the kids of Montana.”

The facility sits on a 62-acre lot at 55 Basin Creek Road, which zoning department staff called “very secure.”
