The St. James Healthcare Foundation gave more than $157,000 to Butte nonprofits and local patients in 2014, according to a news release.
The money assisted with health care and prescription costs, scholarships, health programs and more.
“The St. James Healthcare Foundation is able to directly and significantly impact the quality of care and quality of life of people living in southwest Montana, thanks to generous contributions made to the foundation by local businesses and community members,” Foundation Executive Director Kate Olney said in a statement.
St. James Healthcare pays for all the administrative costs of running the foundation, so all charitable contributions go directly toward helping people in need in the community.
“The total amount given back to the community by the foundation during 2014 clearly shows that financial support of the foundation is a direct investment in the health and wellness of our family members, friends, and neighbors,” said Shannon Panisko, chair of the Foundation Board of Directors.
The foundation’s largest fundraising event, the annual Spirit Gala, is scheduled Mar. 21 at the Montana Tech HPER Complex.
