Zimpel said the results reflect productive past and present work:
“It shows that Butte supports me being outspoken in the last year in questioning everything that I thought should be questioned and that I thought was overlooked in the last few years,” Zimpel told The Montana Standard. “I’m excited that Scott was reelected with me; it shows that people were happy with the direction the board was moving in the past year.
“I’m also so glad the mill levy passed. About two-thirds votes for is huge.”
Tom Billteen, caught at home late Tuesday evening, was unaware he had won the one open elementary two-year term:
“Just collectively I’m excited about the opportunity to move forward personally and as a member of the school board,” said Billteen. “As I said earlier, my decision to run did not come out of no where. I’m grateful and fortunate for the opportunity.”
