Chief Executive Matt Vincent plans to present Butte-Silver Bow commissioners with a revised proposal to add fines for violations of snow-removal laws, this one with exemptions for low-income seniors or the disabled.
Commissioners tabled an initial proposal two weeks ago after concerns were raised about the elderly or handicapped people who can’t shovel their walks.
Under a revamped proposal to be presented to the council’s Judiciary Committee at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the courthouse, people aged 70 or older or those with a documented disability would be exempt from clearing walks if their income is 150 percent of the federal poverty level or less.
