BUTTE – Butte-Silver Bow Urban Forestry Board and MSU Extension will be planting 48 Sensation Maple Trees on Thursday, July 16 at 7 a.m. The tree planting will be on the Boulevard of Elizabeth Warren from Mount Highland Road to Green Lane. Traditionally this space held Cottonwood trees but as those trees grew older, they became too large for the urban environment and removed. Sensation Maples will grow no taller than 30’ and provide vivid fall colors to the neighborhood. Community support and donations have allowed planting these 48 trees at no cost to the taxpayer.
If you would like to assist in this, future tree planting events, or make a donation to improve the urban forest, please contact Kellee Anderson MSU Extension Agent – Butte-Silver Bow at (406) 723-0217 or kellee.anderson@montana.edu
