[ARCHIVED] Summer Road Work Update

BUTTE – Butte-Silver Bow Roads Division would like to present the citizens of our community an update on roadwork and potholes for 2015. As of July 8, 2015, road crews have filled potholes at over 500 locations, often filling multiple holes. A location can be an intersection, block, or an entire street. Since its implementation in early June, the “report a pothole” form has received 52 requests. In that same period, the Roads Division has received 97 phone call reports of potholes. According to the Roads Division, all 149 locations have been completed.

In addition to potholes filled, Roads crews have completed a section of paving on Montana Street, and a section of paving on Granite Street. Crews have installed or replaced numerous street and stop signs, have swept and flushed streets throughout Butte, re-painted numerous streets, curbs and crosswalks, and installed a new parking lot at the Missoula Ball Fields.

Road crews will continue working through the construction season, the next projects will be milling, paving, and Metro Sewer upgrades on Texas Avenue from Farrell Street to Cobban Street and on George Street from Harrison Avenue to Texas Avenue. These projects will begin July 13 and July 14, respectively and last for approximately two weeks. Butte-Silver Bow Roads Division is asking residents to remove all vehicles and obstructions from the parking lanes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
