BUTTE – The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department will offer ‘back-to-school’ immunization clinics this summer. The clinics will be walk-in and require no appointment. The clinics will be held: Wednesday, July 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Monday, August 24 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.; and Thursday, August 27 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“The purpose of providing walk-in clinics this summer is to create an easy process for individuals, families, and our community to receive immunizations,” Said Tina Randall, Community Health Division Director. “The Health Department’s goal is to maintain and improve the overall health and safety of our community and clinics like these are an important aspect of that goal.”
The 2015 Montana Legislature revised the school immunization requirements through House Bill 158. The law, which will become effective October 1, 2015, requires vaccination for all students against Varicella Disease (Chickenpox), and require a booster of Pertussis (Whooping Cough) vaccine in 7th grade.
Required Montana School Immunizations for 11-19 year olds:
TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis)
Varicella (chickenpox) - 2 dose series
Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) - 2 dose series
Polio vaccine - 3 doses, one dose must be on/after 4th birthday
RECOMMENDED Immunizations for 11-19 years old:

The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department will gladly bill insurance, assist in making payment arrangements, and offer both the required and recommended immunizations through the Vaccines for Children Program at low or no cost.
