Butte-Silver Bow Parks & Recreation are happy to offer America’s fastest growing sport: Pickleball for our community. Pickleball will be played on Monday evenings at the Butte Civic Center, beginning Monday, October 19 at 5:30p.m. The indoor Pickleball season will run from October 19 through March 14, with a winter break beginning December 14. Play will resume mid-January at a date to be determined. The fee is $25.00 for the entire season or a $5.00 walk-in fee.
For those new to the sport of Pickleball, former Butte High School Tennis Coach, Don Plessas along with some experienced local Pickleball players will be offering a free clinic, to learn the rules, the equipment and act as ambassadors to the sport to help it grow in Butte-Silver Bow. Attendance to the introductory clinic is free, paddles and balls will be provided. Players are asked to wear tennis shoes and have a willingness to try something new.
“Pickleball is an exciting and fun sport for all ages, said Parks and Recreation Director, JP Gallagher, “My hope is this provides another avenue for members of our community to stay active and healthy.”
