Beginning, October 2, Butte-Silver Bow Parks and Recreation will shut down the majority of public restrooms in the Butte-Silver Bow Public Park Systems for the winter season. Some exceptions are The Original Mine Yard, which will close on October 30, while Copper Mountain and Father Sheehan Parks will close their facilities on October 16. Butte-Silver Bow Parks and Recreation will be keeping the restrooms at Skyline Park and Rocker Station open this winter on a test basis in order to determine if the facilities can withstand Butte’s winter temperatures.
Parks and Recreation will be placing and maintaining portable toilets during winter at the following locations:
• Mt. Con Mineyard, Pacific street parking lot
• On the walking trail by Montana and Woolman
• Father Sheehan park
• On Blacktail trail by Oregon Ave. tunnel
• Whiskey gulch
For questions or concerns, please contact Butte-Silver Bow Parks and Recreation Parks Superintendent, Kelly Dennehy at kdennehy@bsb.mt.gov or (406) 497-6408.
