November 8, 2019, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Archives Building
The Butte Archives is proud to present a featured speaker about the presence and influence of the Hispanic community in Butte’s history. Dr. H. Rafael Chacón is Professor of Art History and Criticism at The University of Montana-Missoula where he lectures on a broad range of art historical subjects. He received his doctorate in art history with honors from the University of Chicago.
The talk will be held in the reading room of the Butte Archives on Friday, November 8, at noon and run about an hour. Admission is free.
Dr. Chacón’s lecture concludes the Archives’ mission to collect artifacts and information about Butte’s ethnic groups through a series of workshops focusing on the contributions of Butte’s Jewish, Finnish, German, and Hispanic communities. The year-long project in partnership with the Montana Preservation Alliance is funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities Common Heritage Program.
